My Deviations

I have enrolled into deviantART.com and already submitted a few of my work.

Some of the people who meet me cannot believe that I can work creativity! As they say, never judge a book by its cover, but in reality people WILL judge a book by its cover at first. I will try to upload my old work into deviantART and would hope for people to visit and comment on them.

Spamware/malware/adware

Heard of them? These stubborn Windows based applications just annoy people for no reason! My PC is currently infected with what's called the Vundo Trojan, and what it does is keeps displaying fake spyware scans and detects them and tries to make me buy a $50 anti-virus remover. Its a scam though.

Enough of my complains though, this blog is about me expressing myself on a subject. I am guessing the topic of interest this time is abut these annoying deeds of evil done by selfish idiotic anti-social communists. Why do they make these kind of applications? They don't have to, and they don't even have to use Windows and hate Microsoft for it. They can just use a free operating system like Fedora or FreeBSD. If you think about the other operating systems, which are free, they don't get infected. Why is that? Is it because they are free so these selfish people don't bother? Or is it that these free operating system developers do it? Are these viruses or spyware/adware created by the creators of these free operating systems?

There was a time when everyone was afraid of viruses, now its the least of the problems. What a virus does is copy itself and overload the hard disks. On the other hand the nasty Trojans and Worms infect the system, hide away in one place, and start making life miserable for the users. What do they gain from it? Well they fool about 5% of the people but that's it.

Whoever is sick of these non-sense, leave a comment. Tomorrow when my Fedora 9 download is complete, I'm going Linux full time. Would install Windows on a virtual machien and run it from within Linux. Bye bye Windows followers!

Sleep

Getting up in the morning, for work or off day, can be both refreshing and exhausting. How do older people wake up early while us young ones don't even care to consider waking up early as a daily routine? Sleep is such an interesting phase of everyday life. The body moves around all day, thinks, acts, gets exhausted while doing so and usually at nights the lights are turned off and the train to either dreamland or nightmares is caught.

Have you ever woken up from sleep and felt tired? I do many times and people tell me something which I don't agree with. They tell me that I sleep more than I should. I know there are certain amount of hours for different age groups to sleep, I've heard of the minimum hours of sleep one should get but never heard of maximum. My own age's minimum hours is between 7 and 9, I think I sometimes get more and sometimes less. On weekends its definitely more! maybe around 12 hours. I must be one of the few people who remember their dreams, well at least they are remembered for a longer while in order to have the time to note them down.

Getting back to the waking up exhausted topic, in my opinion it has something to do with what type of activities one goes through in dreamland while asleep. My thoughts are bizarre right? I'm not arguing about it but that's my opinion. You're free to leave a comment about it!

It is good to dissolve in the little fantasy world which exists only in one's imagination and comes to life when the lights are put out and consciousness is given up for a few hours. It is an escape from the daily life: one of the escapes from the problems of the real world! Sleep is such a sexy and attractive stage of everyday being which no one can escape. It also extends and makes one's imagination get to work in any kind of twisted way it wants. The uncontrollable imagination! the feature which comes built-in with homo sapiens!

Food

Today's topic, food. I got lots of thoughts about food. Kinds, flavors, cooking methods, everything!! Everywhere you go there is a different kind of food item available. One thing I like to do when on vacation is discover different kind of flavors right at home or go around wherever I can to taste different things.

Oman. Just in our lovely country we have so many varieties of flavors, spices, methods, and preferences for food. I would divide Oman, food in view, in two parts. Seafood and Meat. By seafood its obvious I mean everything coming out of the sea like fish, lobsters, crabs, prawns, squids, octopus, etc. By meat, of course lamb, beef, mutton, chicken, etc. There are seafood lovers as well as meat lovers. It is surprising to see though that there are very less vegetarians! Most of veggies are Indian people. its shocking to have not met even one Omani vegetarian in my entire 22 years of life!

Coming back to meat and seafood, there is a competition between both lovers. But there is one more class, my class. we eat and love all kinds of food let it be sea or meat, food is food for me or *us :D. Just one condition though, food should be Halal by Islamic standards or else be rejected by us. I call myself all food lover, but still strangely enough I hate eggplant. I just can't see myself eating an eggplant, never. Aside haram items and eggplant I could eat almost anything. I can't eat shellfish (prawns, Crab, lobsters, etc.) because of allergies, I love to eat shellfish though. Sometimes even though knowing the consequences I have enjoyed my meals. Consequences you ask? I get feeling like my eyes are on fire and after a while they become as big as lemons, very funny to see but I suffer!

One of my hobby is to taste different kinds of food. I have tasted and enjoyed so many cuisines, German, Italian, English (omelettes!), Pakistani & Indian (all over Oman), from Bilad (villages/hometowns of Oman), Mexican, Spanish (mmm yummy Tapas and Paella!!), Greek, believe it or not but you have to believe Russian, etc. A lot of different flavors have reached the taste buds of my tongue, but over all I would not give up Majboos with FilFIl and Shu'a, the best there is!

Candle n the wind ....

An update in a long time...

A night out alone can be a nice experience. Walking on the beach alone for once, soothing the mind and thinking things over, just get carried away in the innocence of the beautiful sound of the closest nature we have. I was out all evening alone, just wanted to see how it would turn out for once to have peace and think about life in general. Came to some conclusions and thought about some more issues.

Work is day by day becoming an issue more than a making me a happy person on the end of the month when the paycheck is received. Thoughts of problems at work are coming in mind rather than family and friends, it can be a good thing for my career but wouldn't want to lose my loved ones over work the second time. I would like to think it is just a matter of time, well it is even if I don't think so but I have to stay up and put all efforts to not let myself fall down into the spiral of misfortune. I have to remind myself to keep trying harder and harder day by day for my goal.

Three years is what I have convinced myself to hold onto this situation. When this time is over and I have achieved the first step towards my dream, it would be a matter of hard work from there to obtain my deepest desires, my stallion, my wonderful house, and my life partner. Have to stay put for three short years, that is what I want the most right now. God give me the strength to stand up to the roadblocks in front of me so I can get closer to what I must do for my welfare and my family's.

Eid gone ....... work come!!

Welcome again work life!! Yup, Eid's gone and I'm back to being a prisoner called staff! Its nice to be back home after a long day at work, doing that extra hour which I owed them for leaving early on Thursday last week because of excitement of Eid and also in a rush of doing the EID shopping which I skipped for the whole month of Ramadhan. It is so frustrating seeing the sizes for most of the good clothes not being available, specially shoes!! All the models I picked out were out of stock for my size, seemed like people just got my size this year or something because last year a lot of good shoes were available and I had difficulty deciding on which one to buy. So much frustration got me thinking to pick any shoe which I can get my hands on and thank god I got my size in good comfy shoes.

I never thought I would ever be surprised as I was today, the experience was the same as first day at work. Even though the people I work with everyday are friendly, it just felt that way. For the short period of time I was on vacation, it felt I was back at school. I got a chance to wear something other than Dishdasha or shorts and a t-shirt in the evenings while relaxing at home. An outing as simple as going to a coffee shop was just impossible to do, but because of Eid holidays I could do all of those plus catch up on my long lost sleep which made my eyes a little brighter.

Off for now, have to catch up on real life! This blg might be boring to read, but I like to have it around! So check back maybe something exciting will happen here, who knows?

Two days of Eid went by ....

.... well, the days went by sort of fast.....

The pic above is cropped from a shot I took of myself in the car. That's a new earing I got myself a few days before Eid. I think it looks good but family has other opinions, but I do like it so guess I will be keeping it for sometime.

First day went as usual, family visits, Shua, etc.. and fell asleep middle of the day waking up in the evenin going out to roam at city centre then going to have dinner at Le Mermaid. the day ending by reading a few pages from Arturo Perez-Reverte's "Queen of the South." The sleep ended at 10 AM next morning though.

Woke up just to get ready and go to a relative's house for lunch then to a movie, and then back home. Home is like a base, when you reach it, feel like whatever you want. King of house. My territory. It was an Eid evening so I had to get ready again for going out. Did that and headed out just to be bored and come back home without even having dinner which I'm having now as I'm typing this. Had a sort of tiring day, off to hit the bed hard. I wish everyone had a woderful time these two days and to enjoy the next few days as well.
